Director
Suzanne Jones started her career with Grant Thornton as a trainee chartered accountant in 2000. After qualifying with CAI (Chartered Accountants Ireland) in 2004, Suzanne worked for a number of organisations including PricewaterhouseCoopers and CIPFA, specialising in providing audit and consultancy services to public sector clients.
Suzanne has been employed by the NIAO (Northern Ireland Audit Office) since 2010 and is currently a Director. She has a wide and varied portfolio which includes responsibility for the delivery of operational audit work as well as data analytics and IT audit. Suzanne is also the technical director for NIAO, a member of the UK’s Public Audit Forum and an independent member of Audit Wales’ Quality Assurance Committee.
Suzanne has been a member of CAI’s Education Board since September 2018 and is a lecturer on the public sector elective of CAI’s professional accountancy qualification. She has recently been appointed as a member of HM Treasury’s FRAB (Financial Reporting Advisory Board).
In her spare time Suzanne likes to spend time with her two children and enjoys walking, yoga, eating out and travelling.
