Pamela McCreedy - Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Pamela will lead and manage the NIAO’s operational business and support the C&AG in the strategic leadership of the NIAO including stakeholder management. She will also take the lead on cultural change within NIAO to develop greater flexibility in management structures and service delivery. She is also Local Government Auditor, with responsibility for leading all local government audits across Northern Ireland.
Pamela trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG where she specialised in public sector audit and advisory.
Pamela joined NIAO in September 2017 from the Northern Health & Social Care Trust (NHSCT) where she was Deputy Chief Executive/Director of Operations. Before taking her post at NHSCT, Pamela was Director of Transforming Your Care (TYC) in the Health & Social Care Board, leading the reform of health and social care services in Northern Ireland.
Prior to that Pamela worked in a senior role in the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust (SEHSCT). Before joining the SEHSCT in 2009, she was the Director of Public Sector Advisory in KPMG, with specific responsibility for health.
In April 2017, Pamela was elected Chair of the Chartered Accountants Ulster Society, at its 110th Annual General Meeting in Belfast. The Ulster Society Represents over 4,500 Chartered Accountants and is a district society of Chartered Accountants Ireland, the largest and oldest professional accountancy body in Ireland.
