In November 2012 we published a report on Property Asset Management in Central Government. Our report highlighted that asset management arrangements in Northern Ireland were highly fragmented. We identified that substantial gains could be generated if property controls were improved and if a more co-ordinated approach to asset management was adopted across the public sector.
This report will follow up on progress since our 2012 report.
Our report will consider:
The progress made in developing a suitable asset management information system;
How the landscape of the central government benchmarked office estate has changed since 2012; and
The level of savings generated as a result of improving the management of assets.
We expect to publish our report in autumn 2017.
